Yeah I'd probably make it a road trip. Bout 1000 miles, figure 5-6 tanks of gas...200 bucks. I could probably make it from my grandma's in Dayton, OH to my aunt's in north OK in a day, and then another day's drive to home in Dallas or back to College station and save the cost of a hotel.

I think there is still some factory warranty left on it.

Good point. Depending on when it was sold.. there should be at least a few months and ~7k miles left on the warranty. And the warranty comes w/ road-side assisance too! I think that too is transferable.

Well I could check it out for you if you wanted me to. It's like 20 minutes from my house. But the salesmen/women are mean there. My mom was going to get a new Escape from them and the guy was a jerk. So we left.

Oh dang! The person I talked to on the phone seemed pretty nice to me. If you wouldn't mind taking a look at the truck for me I would really appreciate it!

Its a good deal. I payed $14,000 for my 02 FX4 w/37k on it. Matter-o-fact, I'm gonna drive down there and trade mine in! Well, not really. But it does sound/look like a great truck for a great price.

As far as getting it quickly, I saw my truck on a tuesday and bought it Wednesday. Then again, it did set for 3 Months on the lot before I got it...

Yeah all I wanna do is put some money down on it so they can't sell it! Dad keeps trying to change the subject on me though! If I could I'd start haggling with them over the phone right now, but there's no way my parents would let me do that. He just keeps saying it's nice to dream. It's my money! I'll dream up whatever I want with it!

Cash talks. If you wake in with 14k and say you will buy it chances are you will get it. My parents bought my aunt a car a couple years back before she passed away. It was a 99 sable. Real nice with low miles. They wanted 9500. My dad said he had 7500 cash and they didn't believe him. Once he pulled it out and showed him they drove home in it for 7500 out the door. Dealers look more at what they can get up front then what they can finance.

What I would honestly do is. Call them and try and talk them down a bit. If they dont budge then tell them you have a settlement check for 14k.

Well if dad won't listen... talk to mom! Anyways, which airport in Michigan would be the best one to fly into? The place is right across the Ohio-Michigan border.
