Top Speed?

What is the top speed about for a 99 Ranger 4 banger with a 5 speed? Mine is only about 80 with the pedal all the way to the floor. That sound about right? I was just wondering.

There is a governor of 90 in the '01+ v6's. I would think it would be the same for your truck. 80 isn't even fast enough to pull out of the slow lane on the interstate.

I know man. It is terrible. Takes me like a half hour to get up to speed. Need a half mile if I am gonna pull out in front of someone. Is there anything you think I could do to help it out? Maybe plugs, new wires, cap, whatever?

I hate you, not really, but I'm jealous. I've only gone up to 112.

It is, the only way to get it re-governed is a tuner.

I did 92 once and it was still going.. that was enough for me. Just couldn't control it at that speed.

Yea the 4 bangers are pretty gutless.. I share your pain in taking a half mile to get up to speed.
