TOTALED!!

Knock on the door at 5:30 this morning. Cops were there and said my truck got hit on the street. Went out, and saw it. Yup, its a goner.

Drunk dude hit it, he ran off but left his car at the scene. Dip****.

Ill post some pics as soon as they are done uploading to Photobucket.

The strange thing? Im not really mad or that bothered. I have full coverage, it wasnt my fault and the only person that was hurt was (probably) the drunk. Itll be fine.

It's too bad the drunk didnt simultaneously get hit as he exited the car by another drunk driver.

I was looking at the first picture and I'm like, "totaled? How?" Then I saw how the front end hit another vehicle, and the wonderful pic of the frame. Ouch.

But with the full coverage it shouldn't be SO bad... At least after the initial p.i.t.a. of dealing with insurance companies etc... Is that your daily? If so, will the insurance provide a temporary car?

Hope it's all resolved soon. Good luck.

yeah its my daily driver. i guess the bright side is that im gonna be working in NorCal this week and work gives me a rental car when i have to travel so i already had plans to not use the truck this week. I have my Cougar that will still function as a daily driver too though. It just gets half the milage as the truck.

Im kinda bummed because i just paid it off like 2 months ago and put new tires on it like 3 months ago. If i had spare wheels to throw on it id take my tires and K&N setup off of it. Unfortunately, I wont have time to go to the tow yard and pull all of that off before i gotta travel north for work.

Im planning on buying another Ranger though. Used again, but maybe an Edge or something this time. Not sure what the insurance is gonna give me for it, but it shouldnt be too hard to cover the cost of another Ranger.

Sorry to see and hear that Steve. But like you said, it's covered by insurance, and with the truck still being relatively new, I'm sure you'll get a good pay out on it and enough cash to get yourself another Ranger.

FX4 FTW.

So would I. Especially because I only carry the most basic liability insurance on my truck due to it's age and value (or lack thereof), so if my truck got totalled, I'd be SOL in getting any money for repairs or a replacement.

If it was id have to make a stop at Home Depot to buy some duct tape, rope, a shovel and a waterproof tarp. Then id follow the trail of shame into the morning air until i found satisfaction.
