A good driver knows to expect the unexpected. Yes, I speed in the truck and on the bike. But I sure as hell don't speed around a turn like that.

My guess? If there was a line seperating the two directions of travel, you probably crossed it. There's no one stupid enough to stay in their 'lane' at high speeds around a corner like that. (unless you really ARE stupid enough, but I would like to give you SOME credit)

Thankz BLK. It's nice to see that SOMEONE has common sense and feels responsible for OTHERS.

Yes... I've hit ice and spun my tires, but not while speeding in an unsafe manor. I've even had punctures on my motorcycle tires... both tires flat. Yes, I've sped on the bike and the truck.

BUT NOT WHEN I'VE GOT SOMEONE ELSE'S LIFE IN MY HANDS and certainly not around a corner like that. To the OP... ask your friend if they would jump in a truck with you again. If you get an honest answer, maybe that'll be more of a learning lesson. I'm glad no one got hurt, but not all accidents end up injuryless (if that's a word at all).

There's a time and place for shyt like that. Speeding in a residential area around a tight corner is NOT the time or place.

One thing I have not done... LANE SPLITTING. Wanna know why?

1) It's dangerous. Who knows when a driver in either lane will want to change lanes without signalling.

2) It's also against the law except in California. If I were to do that in any other state and I was involved in an accident, the police and insurance companies would deem ME responsible for my accident no matter who was responsible.
you may not have had someone in your truck or on the back of the bike, but what about the thousands of other people on the road?

the sun don't shine out your ***, get over yourself... how do you know when you are speeding that there isn't going to be someone who is putting gas in their vehicle just around the next corner, on the side of the road... unsafe driving is unsafe driving, don't come on here and pull this **** about how when you do it it's ok, but when ANYONE else does it holy fvck the world is going to end...

Correction John... If you look back at your thread, I only had TWO posts:

"So how fast were you traveling?"

and

"Thankz Sniper... I guess I missed that post."

You stated that you were going about 50ish, but I missed that post.

I never ONCE stated that I thought you were speeding. You didn't give us any details to deduce that. All you said was that you swerved to avoid a dog, then fishtailed (I think) and that wreck happened.

I never said that when I speed it's ok... I just stated that when I speed, I don't try to take a 90 degree turn at 40+. On highways, EVERYONE speeds. Still doesn't make it right OR safe.

But it's not as dangerous as speeding in a residential area like that where the speed limit is probably 25-ish unless the lawmakers are idiots and dropped it to 15 or below.

To clarify since some of you don't get my stance...
YES I speed.
NO it's not right.
But I DON'T do anything stupid when someone else is in my 'care'.
I DON'T do anythign stupid when I know that something could pop up unexpectantly (like a corner).

That road acutally doesn't have a lane in the middle and the speed limit is 45 on that road and the curve speed is 15 yeah I proly was going 30. Who gets all the way down to the suggested speed on a country road where you'll the only car on the road. Annugryrn of what ever you spell it you being hard on me on a forum website believe it or not doesn't stick in my head longer then 5 minutes you no one special just another loser that thinks he is something special on a website

Impressive speech... except it would be more effective if I didn't have to read it 6 times to understand WTF you were trying to say.

All I would LIKE to see is some common sense and courtesy for other people that share the road. I'm just wasting my posts here. I just hope and pray that you don't take someone out if something like this happens again.

PS. taking a turn at 30mph is still a stupid move.
That is all.

I agree as well although I think annaguyen's approach is a bit confrontational. I think stepping up to a supercharged truck is a terrible Idea if the OP'er can't keep his Ranger on all fours in this situation. I think he needs to be busted down to a 4 banger, auto, Ranger. When I had my first and only wreck that was my fault I got busted way down to a POS car. I learned a lot from that experience. Now 10+ years later I've never been in an accident again.

Usually when a vehicle rolls it ends up with flat tires. The tires are what catch and tip the vehicle over and thats a large amount of force right against the sidewall/bead resulting in the bead letting go.

Around 3 on Sunday. I also said that I always said my next truck would be a Tacoma supercharger but after this I do understand that isn't logical. I would still like a Tacoma and I know that I learnd a truck is a truck and a car is a car and not to drive a truck like a litle car. And I do have to drive my sister 4 banger ford focus for a god while till I can get another truck

i don't think the power of the ranger was to blame for this... but i do agree with you!

Well you don't have to have a lot of power to fish tail on a gravel road. Adding more power will = more fish tailing and more rolling of trucks in the OPer's case.

i don't know if your completely correct... i mean, ya, you are correct... i've had my back end come out around corners tonnes of times, which was just because i was going too fast around the corner, not because i was on the gas... just centrifical force (this is way worse, because you are trying to hold the corner, and letting off the gas won't help)

First of all, i would like to thank god for you being fine after the accident, however i will have to agree with nguyen/annguyen however the hell you spell his/her/it's name.

How the hell do you flip anything going 30mph??? Something does not add up. 30 mph in a turn which caused him to "fishtail" and "overcorrect" then flip???

You flipped a ranger at 30 mph, please stay the f.ck away from a supercharged toyota. Admit that you were doing more than 30, admit you can't drive for ****, apologize to your friend for almost killing him.

Learn from your damn mistake.
