tough choice
i have the stepside bed on my ranger, and finding a cap, toolbox, or any bed equipment is tough for the stepside. my main concern is a cap. and maybe a nice tool box. i already plan on eventually repainting my truck due to having to replace both fenders. my question is: is it worth it more in the long run to replace the bed for a straight side, or is there any good deals out there on step side accessories? stepside owners speak up if you have found good outlets to buy parts from, or should i just switch to straight side from a junk yard?

No issues finding a toolbox, UWS.com . Not interested in a cap so cant help ya there and a few good things about having a steppie is--the bed is mostly fiberglass so dont have to worry about rust., a one person job changing the fuel pump.

Owning both style of boxes on a ranger pickup I do enjoy the sexy lines of my stepside.

have you gone on Craig’s List or the web in general to search for a Cap.
When I was interested I found three or four but then changed my mind. Tool Boxes, there are plenty out there, I have a chest but wish I had one of the rear step boxes that allows the lid a little room to pick up. I would have to look up where I got mine if there was a need. As to the Steppie Question, “Should I keep the Stepside”? Answer: There is no question in my mind that the Stepside is a better looking bed on a std cab Ranger but on an Ext Cab, it is your call but the steppie is still a nice looking bed. |
thanks guys, i've looked all over craigslist and stuff and found lots of straight sides, or stepsides that cost upwards of 800 bucks. but i do like the stepside look better
