Should I buy it? How do you go about getting a title for an abondoned vehicle? Should I run away or part it out?

im 'pretty' sure you can go to the lisecene bureau and get a new title... dont know any details as to how they know who the owner is and all that but i saw someone talk about it once before

 

i was gonna buy an old short school bus for tailgating, before the football season started. i found a bus that had no title. if i remember correctly, the person who's possession it is in now has to apply for a title (costs 50 bucks, or something like that). i could be wrong though... but i think that was about it.

 

I am going to look at it this evening or tommorrow evening. I'll see if the guy will go to the DMV with me

hell make sure it isnt stolen first. dont want to have a ' hot ' vehicle on your hands

 

Yeah Don thats what I was thinking. The guy says the numbers come back clean, just abandonded with a bad tranny.

 

Well I bought it without a title because it was so cheap. Not sure yet whats going to happen with it. I am going to see if a title can be had for it and go from there. Will get pics soon Its a 2001 edge ext cab 2wd. 3.0 engine automatic. don't evn know yet the condition of the motor & trans, body has a few dings and seat is ripped. Exterior is white interior is grey I think.
