Winter Weight

How much weight do you guys put in your bed for winter time?
Personally i put in 240 lbs of salt. it seemed to help me last winter with all of the ice and snow in ohio.

4X4 here as well, but I still have 240lbs of sand in the box. Makes a difference for sure!

Not always true. You can still get stuck in the snow in four wheel drive. I've done it several times.

I run 3-5 80 pound bags. I probably won't have any in the truck this winter because I've been hauling more than that every day to the job site and back, lol.

"bull****" ive got 4x4 and that still isnt enough in these light trucks unless you drive like a grandma.

I usually carry 4 or 5 full sand bags seems to do the trick.

I usually run 210LBS if sand in the bed.

I used to run lots more, but then I realised I just had tires that were no good.

not a damn thing usually and im 4wd and drive on ****ty roads and i havent had a problem.. the only time i slid off the road was because i was in 2wd with bare patches and compact snow and ice on the road and was only doing 50-60kph, well under the 80kph speed limit.. slid off into some dude front yard, missed a power pole by oh about 4 inches got the truck running again in the ditch got er in 4wd and drove out no problems.

the end of my truck is soooo light it doesnt really matter how much weight i put in it, it still goes all over the place.. i had two 24x30 concrete slabs in my truck and it didnt do a damn thing.

i forgot to mention that when i slid in the ditch last winter, i had a brand new set of 31x10.5x15 BFG all terrains on my truck.. i dont have much respect for them tires anymore!!! my worn stockers would have kept me on the road better..

I sometimes put weight in the back, but I dont really need it, even though the back of these trucks are pretty light.

i don't see enough snow here to justify having even crappier milage. i just run 4wd when i need it and feather the gas.
