I dunno.. Maybe it floats with those balloons wrapped around the wheels? Drive it out into a river and fish out the back of it or something?

IMO, it doesn't really matter if it's 2wd or 4wd, the point of bigger tires is to add ground clearance, nothing more, I've seen plenty of places where a 2wd could easily go if it had 33's or 35's instead of stock tires, 4wd isn't the end all answer to driving off road.
In my experience you get no more traction with a 38x12.5 than you do with a 31x12.5, but you get more clearance with the 38, that's the point.
I agree, I always thought that a standard cab that was lifted looked 'out of place' or 'strange' for some reason, but I'm sure the owner likes the way it looks and that's all that matters.

so basically you beat the ever living **** out of your truck. get 35's you'll regret going 38's.

There is no comparison in 90% of conditions.

I said a truck doesn't have to be 4wd to need clearance, there's plenty of places a 2wd can go... if it has clearance.
I have 31's with 5" of lift, I still manage scrape the frame rails, now if I had 35's I may or may not scrape the ground anymore, but the point is I can make it there in 2wd, with 31's or 35's, I just need the clearance, hence the reasoning for putting a bigger tire on a 2wd.
I also stated that the point of a bigger tire was for clearance, I don't care how good you are, if the 4wd needs the bigger tire for clearance, so does the 2wd.
Lastly, yes I have driven a properly setup 4wd, however it was an F-150 4x4 with 35's, I have no need for a 4wd vehicle anymore, I can make it wherever I want to go around here with 2wd, if I get stuck... well, that's why I have a winch.
