I went to exchange my class II hitch I got as a present for a class III. The only one they have says it only fits an 8' bed ranger. Whats the difference here?

Also, does it mount to the same holes as the bumper? The picture had 3 bolts per side. I looked under my truck and it had the two bolts for the bumper, plus on more behind it. Is that where it mounts, or are there separate holes that I missed.

 

I always thought they was the same. It mounts where the bumper mounts and one up on the side of the frame.

 

I don't even think they make Ranger's with 8' beds? I think it's only 6' and 7'. What brand is the hitch?

 

The brand name is Buyers? From princess auto. Not sure if it's there brand or not. It said "ranger/ splash 8' bed only". I'm assuming it will fit.

they mean 7 ft bed the only 8 ft bed ranger was in the seventies and was a trim level of the now called F 150
