So every summer my truck has the same issue. For 3 years now when my truck gets hot it doesn't seem to start. I believe it has to do with something inside the cab because if the suns out and I put a sunshade up and the cab isnt as hot, it will more than likely work, if not it will within like 10 minutes. If I don't have the sunshade up it will not start and itll take a good 45 minutes or turning the key over before it starts. The Anti-theft light flashes if it doesn't start. and if it does start the light will stay solid until i turn the key over.

Anyone have any idea what this could be it has been driving me crazy!

 

Do you have a after market alarm with a remote start, a remote start, or a after market alarm? I have a after market alarm with a remote start and a bunch of fun stuff but mine did it too for a while

 

Sounds like maybe the security module in the vehicle malfunctioning.

 

Could Or like i said the after market is interfering and is having issues it needs he needs to in lock it with the old key remote and lock it back then unlock it with the after market the get In then put the key to the on position don't crank it and if you have a remote start put your foot on the brake and press the remote start witch will send a error code back then you should be able to start it if no remote start then turn the key to on foot on brake hold unlock and crank it

 

none of that works, I have no aftermarket anti theft system its stock. It the PATS anti theft system that comes with any 1999 Ford Ranger. It has something to do with the heat... Any idea what it could be, so far i've posted about this every summer and still no solution.

 

Anyone with any ideas as to why it does this?
