how to take off stock step bars

just as the title says, i decided i'd take off the stock step bars that came on my 07, and sell em to a buddy that also has a ranger.

how would i go about getting them off?

i briefly took a look at em, and didn't see bolts that looked like they were for the bars. but it was dark out, with cell phone light.

thanks.

Also remember 2 door steps are different from 4 door steps if you are going to sell them.

They are pretty simple to take off unless you have rusted out bolts like mine. You got an 2007 so it should be easy.

mine were tack welded by the previous owner. tried to take them off a couple times with a plasma cutter, but gave up.

there are six bolts. 2 at the rear and one at the front. you then slide them either forward or back and remove them. not hard, i took mine of this spring. a couple of months after i got the truck.

yeah i took em off yesterday,

and damn, it was freezing cold outside, it had just snowed the day before, and i found some mud to go have fun in. me and my buddy had a lot of fun pulling them off lol

can't go wrong with mud constantly falling on your face as you undo the bolts.

but yeah, they were a little tight, but not too bad, and it makes a huge difference.

i think once i get a lift i might get some aftermarket step bars, that are pulled up a bit closer to the truck, but these ones just made it look like a grampa truck at stock height.
