tune up / sea foam
 

okay i went out and bought some sea foam and ive got a few questions

first i pour 1/3 into the gas tank then 1/3 into the air intake? then 1/3 into that line that comes off the round thing the vacuum line or what ever is that right and do i do all three at once? after this ill change my oil then change my spark plugs [what are some good cheap ones] also im going to recharge my air filter is there anything else i can/should do to tune up my engine?

Also i own a 3000 lbs boat and i was wondering do you guys think that my 2.5L ranger would be able to pull this boat about a mile to a boat ramp and be able to pull the boat back out the ramp is a very shallow ramp its not steep at all we've been using my dads E 150 van to pull it around and it has the 300 straight six in it and it pulls it around fine and we've pulled the boat out of a very steep ramp before no issues i think my truck could handle it but im not sure advice would be much appreciated. i wouldn't want to kill my truck if it not all all possible please let me know :)

so i turn the truck on and while its on i unhook that line and suck up the 1/3 sea foam then turn the truck off and reconnect it and turn it back on and let it idle until the smoke stops?

DO NOT pour into the intake. The brake booster line does that.

basic happenings-In the gas cleans the injectors. In the Brake booster cleans valves, top of pistons. In the oil cleans pistons/rings, rockers etc.

any pictures of the brake booster line you pour into?

plugs i think everyone will tell you motorcraft or NGK

im yet to do any yet i want to clear everything up before i **** anything up but ive seen the line in a few pictures ill try and dig it up

Just curious but is your truck 2wd/4wd? As for towing the boat. I have towed a similar size boat (Mastercraft 190) behind my truck and I had to use 4wd to get it up a really steep ramp. It might have been wet, I dont remember. If its a shallow ramp you should be fine. Whats the max tow rating for your truck? That little 4cyl might struggle a little bit. If you can use low range that would help you out.

its 2wd and the ramp i would be using is not steep at all its at most a 15 degree change from flat my dad said id rip the clutch out if i tried but he also said that i wouldn't be able to tow a few things in the past that i towed...

Your biggest problem with the ramp is gonna be traction.

yeh especially with the rear tires proably being in the water. If you can use the other E150 I would reccomend it. No sense in trashing your clutch just to say you did it. Had you had 4wd I would say go for it cause you can use low range to help your gearing out.

ya okay i didnt wanna do it just to say i did just wanted to know if my truck was capable since my dad's e150 is with him out of town atm :( i would probably be better off in my moms lexus lol big ole v8 to rip it around =\

yeh I think your truck could do it. but if you have access to a E150 or a lexus. I am guessing it is the one the size of a chevy tahoe/ford expedition? my buddies dad used to have one of those and they towed his ski boat which is around 3-4k pounds no problem. his had 4wd with the iforce V8 which I think was like a 5.4 or a 4.6 or something.
