What would you do?

Im finally able to afford my transmission. I found 2 sellers on EBay.

This
one is used with about 130,000 miles on it.

Or I can get The other one which has been rebuilt.

If I go with the used one I can afford the clutch I shouldnt need to replace, but should since Im there anyway. My clutch supposedly only has 30,000 miles on it though so I doubt Id be going back in there anytime soon. My truck has 81,000 on it and I do plan on keeping it around for awhile. I dont think I could impprove on what I have for what Id sell it for, and I dont use credit for cars.

Thanks
DanO

Honestly I would go with the rebuilt one, it also has a 90 day warranty on it.

i wouldn't go to ebay for something that heavy for a warrantied item. The warranty is only as good as your ability to get the tranny back to them in the event of a problem. That's gonna add another $100 to the cost if something happens. They may ding you for another $75-$100 to get a replacement to you. That could be double trouble.

I would go to a local wrecking yard. They generally offer a 90 day warranty.

I would also get the clutch changed at the same time.

Well the rebuilt closes tomorrow. After watching this tranny get relisted several times I am ready to bid, but when I looked today someone else bid on it already. So now I have to wait and see what happens. Im high bidder but I think maybe I shouldve sniped it tomorrow, oh well I wont get into a bidding war for it.
