Update

My should felt better today. I think in a couple more days its should be fine.

Insurance man stopped by today.
Like we all thought it is totalled because it will cost more to fix then its worth.
He said the frame and suspension and drive-train all appear to be fine. The value of the truck is $15,660. I owe $10,597 on it as of novembers bill which I just paid. So I should owe a little less then that now.

I was pretty sure but asked anyway. Before they take it away since its totalled I can take the lift kit and re-geared axle and all the stuff off I put into it. Since I am taking the axle out I have to put the stock one in. So I am going to take my wheels and tires off and put the stockers on.

I am thinking about buying it back from the insurance and parting it out. The guy said he thinks it might be in the $1,000 to $1,500 ball park or so he thinks.

If 1000 - 1500 is all they want I would buy it back you can part it out for more than that I would think. Again man glad to hear you are feeling better. Sounds like everything is going your way now.

dang man! for $1500 if you dont want it, i will come get it! the bed alone could be sold for $400-$500.......then you have most interior pieces (if you have covered the cab to keep weather out) that could be sold off......front bumper and vailance (i would be interested!), and other small parts......heck you could sell your rear axle for $400.....and the lift kit for around $1000 if all the parts are ok......

Totalled, that sucks. If it still drives straight, I would probably try to buy it back, then find a new cab and bed for it.

First of all, experience from when I wrecked my truck. Dont take what the insurance co. offers first. I made that huge mistake. What you should do is price your truck used in several markets and get a good idea of what it would cost for you to replace your truck (same options, similar miles, etc..) Then present that to the Insurance. My truck, i thought, was only worth about 8.5k, but i was offered 12k from my insurance, so I jumped on it. But when i was looking for a standard cab Ranger like mine with low miles, the closest i found had 10k more miles on it and cost near 14k.

Second, there is really no reason to buy it back. I dont know what insurance co. you use, but My truck was ALOT less of your truck is/was from the factory and they wanted near 2500 dollars for me to buy it back from them. The guy telling you 1000 to 1500, i really think he is wrong.

O am sorry you wrecked your truck, just make sure you take your time to get the right amount of money.

Just the drive train parts are worth more than $1500, lol. I would take your 4x4 driveshaft in a heartbeat if it became available as I will be needing one if the 4x2 driveshaft doesn't fit when I do the conversion.

the 4x2 driveshaft wont fit after you add the transfer case.......the 2wd trannys are a slip yoke in the transmission and the 4x4's are in the shaft.....and the 2wd shaft will be too long by about 8"-12"

Man, that sucks you trashed a really nice truck, but take it from someone who has trashed a lot of nice vehicles, you will always have another. Glad I am not reading your obituary instead of this.

Just ask them for the salvage title and see how much they could give you for it with that instead, likely ~ $1500 or so less overall, but you get to keep it and do whatever you want with the parts. That is probably where he gets $1000 - $1500 from is the difference in a salvage title and declaring it total loss.

Yea, you could probably get just that for your lift/wheels/tires.

I say if you have the spare room to do it! I would just gut it and use it for spare parts for the next ranger (assuming you get another ranger).

Or you could just cut your losses...and let them take it.

Thats a Mothereffin Ford baby. You know it amazes me how well these take roll overs. There was one today right infront of our shop a old 90s Ranger rolled over trying to avoid a dog and the guy crawled out with minor wounds. Glad your ok man, sure hope you get into another truck soon!

The main thing is that your ok. I think you should buy it back and get an older style body and swap it on.
