Winter commute best tires
Hello! I have a 100 mile round trip daily commute from the Maryland boarder to Harrisburg,PA on I81. For the summer I have a 2013 Focus, but I don't want to get it messed up this winter.
My 2003 2wd 4cyl Ranger will be my ride. Does anyone have suggestions for a good tire that will do well in snow when needed, but not kill my gas mileage too badly?

Avoid BFG All Terrain T/A KO tires IMO. They were quite poor on ice (fair in snow) on my 1996 Mazda B3000 4x2 (I use to live in a snow belt where it average 8 feet of snow a year)....even with 250 pounds of sand bags over the rear axle too.
I always prefer winter tires for winter driving in a 4x2...studded if it is warranted and legal in your area.

IMHO the Michelin LTX MS/2 is THE best tire for trucks and SUV's on the market.
