As long as you have open differentials and not lockers , you may just experience the truck pulling a little to one side.
Also , on the rear , the shorter tire will be the drive wheel.
Do not run an odd tire in 4WD on pavement , You'll damage the drivetrain.

It is the diameter of the tire that is important. The tires on your 16" wheels have a theoretical diameter of 30" and are sorter than your 32" tires. You can use it as a spare but you should not drive with it for a long distance on an axle with a differential. It is worse if that differential has a L/S differential because you will cause accelerated wear on the L/S differential. If the differential has a locker you will cause accelerated wear on the locker.

So do you want the spare as the wheel that provides power or does it not matter?

With an open diff it shouldn't matter too much, but with an LS if the spare is smaller in diameter, you should put the spare on the front (and not use 4x4)
So, if you get a flat on a rear tire, you put the spare on the front and move the good front tire to replace the flat on the rear.
It's a little extra effort, but it will save your diff.

OK, well I have triple A... and at the moment carry NO tools on board.... its complicated...

anyways,. I have ALWAYS heard that tire size wasnt as important as wheel size when it comes to spare tires... and that you should NEVER use a different wheel size spare...

why is this.. ? I am curious to know... my question applies to cars as well...

My tow package thru AAA will tow me 100 miles for a flat... after that I am on my own.

Wheel size makes no difference, as long as it clears the brake caliper, Outer circumference matters the most.
