Unimportant question
Hey all, so I recently picked up a 76 250 and got some parts traded out before I moved her. She shakes and rattles, but she rolls haha. Anyway, can't complain about soundness or functionality considering she sat for 7 years.... but I do have one, stupid, unimportant question to ask.
Why is it that many people with trucks of this model have the foam tubing secured around the shifter stalks? Is it just to quiet down clanging noises or is there some deeper, underlying purpose....? I just ask because my truck has it, and most of the pics I've seen online so far have it as well.
Anyway... just curious. Thanks.
