Unplugged battery and now pinging....
My truck has always had a ping/spark knock under a load, for example low rpms going up a steep hill. It did it with the stock airbox and filter, new plugs/wires etc.
Well 3 months ago I put new tires and alloys on my truck... and like a miracle it completely stopped....idk how its possible but it did and I was so happy. To test it out. I took it to a place called Great hill rd, where previously my truck would rattle like it was falling apart....and it was dead quiet, not a single noise. Well I just put in a new airfilter, and unplugged my battery to reset the computer like i always do, and now the spark knock is back with a vengance!! I just changed the pcv valve and noise is still there. (Freaking coolant lines!!!) My question is: Is there a learning period for the ecu??? Its been about 400 miles since I unplugged the battery and I was hoping the comp. would sense this problem and change the timing...but so far no cigar. I really don't want to start throwing parts at her again, I wish I had left things alone!!!! I love my truck, but she needs to stop these shenanigans. :sorry: |
