Awsome Finds, Trepaul Read
Ok i called a local junk yard...they have some explorer sports and sport tracs..they're 00 or 01.....Will that be compatable with my 99??They have a 00 white cluster, OHC, visors, and a full console i can buy for roughly $200.......
Tre or shane, is this a good price for all that....And the guy told me 00+ clusters wont work on -00 because the antitheft or soemthing....he said i need to pull my cluster out, unplug it and see if my truck will crank, to see if the 00 cluster will work??
Ever heard of that??

Everything will work just fine up until the changed the shape of the clusters in 02 or 03 I think...
I would say that's a damn good deal...
I know for just the OHC and console can cost you over $150 easily because a lot of places will charge $100 alone for the console and more if you leave the Disc changer in it... Not to mention if it's the one that reads the different computer outputs.. ie: mpg, miles til empty, etc...
Not only that but the Clusters go for about $50 shipped... And you're gonna pick all this up... Just remember you can always talk down those JY's... Tell them you'll pay $150 right now for it all and you'll go pull it all yourself.. Tell them another place has the same stuff but is a lil further away from xxx price and usually they'll work with you... If you visit frequently you start to know people, that's when you start seeing savings lol

From what I understand, if you don't have a 01+ it doesn't go to anything. Especially if you don't have factory alarm that came with remotes for it...
Here's what you can do... At least what I did when I bought mine a long time ago in my 2wd.. Ask them if you can swap out the clusters and see if it works.. Just go there with everything torn apart with it ready to unplug and plug in... If it works, call it good and pay for the sucker! If not, you won't have wasted any money... That's what I did in my 2000 when I went from the cluster with no tach to the silver faced 03 ones with orange needles... Asked to test it outside and when it worked, I went in and paid for it!

Yeah Dustin all of my things have been painted. The OHC was originally blue, the mustang domelight was originally tan and the center console was light gray. There all black now and you could never know unless you take them down and look at the backs. You can see it at the meet. Clear coat makes a huge difference in how shiny it is. IMO without clear coat looks more stock, but its not as durable.
But as long as you use quality paint and take your time with prep it will turn out great.
