my truck's mods (pics)

this thread i intend to update as i work on the truck, and as it evolves...

today (day 4 with the truck) i managed to get my CB in and changed the headlights to the super white 4350k blubs, that took 2 tries, i found out that my truck does not take the 9004 bulbs like my mustang and other trucks do...

now pics

antenna (magnet mount)

they no name i think, from princess auto, were on sale yesterday for 7$ a pair :D now their 10... they actually do make a difference, and i am happy with them, i'll get a shot of the packaging when i get up tomorrow (i'm at work right now)

blk 02, i was lookin at a few red ones, and they were really growing on me, but then the blue one popped up and was a good price, and the salesman was even better (good from his stance).

flyboy, the antenna is temporary. I bought it to use on my dad's truck when i was in bonnieville (wendover) utah for speedweek, i want to mount one to the hole that the wire goes through in the box, but i am going to wait till after the spray in liner gets put in...

I was down in utah with this car

seen here (me) 3rd from right with the dark glasses on, standing next to Andy Green (pilot of the JCB Deisel Max car[fastest deisel powered car in the world] and holder of the overall landspeed record)

(yes i know, i ramble way too much, and often get off topic)

Looks good man...what other things do you have planned for it? It's not that often people post shifter pics of 04+ manual Fx4's.

If you intend on continually updating this thread with new mods and such, this should be in the Project Logs section of the site. And under a different title...something like "-weezl-'s truck log" or something like that. Just givin ya a tip.

i think i mentioned imbedded somewhere, that i am going to be getting a spray in liner done, and i'm going to see if i can get the guy to spray in the ford symbol at the front (seen it done a few times) after that, the new antenna will go in

hopefully this week for it though, ABS, fog light mod (2 position 3 pole switch on it, so one position will be stock working, the other fog with hb's) remove rear mud flaps, torsion bars, if i can find someone who will do a cheap alignment after that, lift the rear, thinking shackles only, maybe blocks... i have to see what i am allowed to do (the dealership is being very sticky with the pt warranty) front skid plate is a maybe. winch... a chip is a definite, but that has to wait till after the warranty for sure, other than that' i'll have to see what comes up or i see on sale. i will probably end up putting some big lights on the front, i miss my old IPF lights i had on my f-250

oh, and for the ricer in me (what little there is, look at my vehicle history) i will be putting strobes in the lights, and possibly red led strobes in the rear window, (like police lights, but no blue, blue is too expensive of a ticket, red i believe is legal)

*edit*
where do you guys put the switches for everything you run? being i've got the double tall stock deck and all... i'm going to need a fairly large area by the time I am done, i want to put in the small, flatish, black rockers, possibly like these... my biggest thing at this point is keeping the truck looking professional done, not hokey some guy who just bought a new truck and wants to mod it (as is the case)

or like this, but i would want red led in it, and the problem is square holes are difficultish to cut

here's pics of the headlight painting i did today, the one headlight i heated and tried a thousand times is totally warped, and took me like half an hour to get back in, you can't see it, but the mounts will not line up anymore...

and if one of the mods would be so helpful as to move this thread to the right section, i would be forever grateful and love you long time! (as fx4 mentioned)

Sucks that the clear corners messed up. One important word of advice I learned from installing my Superlift, always follow sort of closely the directions that other members give you. If you had followed the temp guides on the clear corners you may have had better luck. The reason I say this is because I spent about 30 hours installing my superlift, and the reason it took so long was because I'd struggle for 2 hours on a part, get frustrated and call FX4Wannabe01 or Zabeard or Daniel (from Michigan) and they would tell me how to remove a part. Very very helpful and almost always i was doing it wrong or using too much force in the wrong way.

that was too much typing, i like how you're knockin out mods fast. I usually work slow.

waiting to get it fixed, insurance is covering it, of course, if all goes to plan, will be getting an STX grill and 05 bumper, which will allow for more moding, and it took out 1 of my warped corners, so it will be replaced, i think i'm going to end up getting all the lights across the front replaced to match...

still have not put in the ABS cancel switch yet, or the fog light switch, although with my new hu, i have a nice spot for the switches...

can someone take a look at these switches, and tell me if this would work for what i want... i'm looking for something that can be used for 1 power wire in, and 2 possible outputs, (one for each switch position) with no off section, and an LED indicator for one position

i would also be able to use that switch as a standard on off switch right? just leave one of the circuits un wired... this has 8 posts on the back, why? they sure look sweet though! going to see if i can find blue

Sorry about the accident...

As far as the switches go, look into the aux switches that are optional on the F250 and 350s. OEM parts are probably your best shot at keeping an OEM look.
