De..lifting? ha

Im considering lowering the truck to maybe stock height or a little lower. how much will this cost and how much can i sell the parts for?

I desperately need better gas mileage. The other thing I thought about doing is Supercharging the beast. but how much gas miles will i get outta a SC? Anyone on here Supercharged?

New Cab/Bed Bolts Assuming you dont have the stockers.. sell the bl for $100?
New Stock size Tires $300+ and depending your current tires condition maybe $300+
Alloy Rims.. lighter rims save gas.. get some cheap stockers of craiglist for $200 and sell the steelies for maybe $200..

So if you do it right you could break even, have a stock truck, and maybe save gas, but doubt full if you want a SC..

Easiest/Cheapest way to save gas is to change your driving style.. keep the rpms low, mostly under 2k, keep it under 65 mph on the hwy, and dont ever gun it from a dead stop.. this got my mixed driving from 18mpg to 22mpg..

Also, good luck finding a supercharger for the 3.0L Vulcan. The Whipple has been discontinued for a couple of years now.. Turbo it! lol

ok...so iknow your not gonna "demod" the truck now...

But...

Jared had a 03L2 RCD'd and BL'd w/ 35's and alloys, 4.56's, and an Explorer Express supercharger....and was getting great mileage out of it when out of the gas. Very impressive numbers for a truck on 35's and supercharged.

jared had 4.10s and the ee and was getting the good mileage, then he regeared to 4.88s.. i dont ever recall him saying his mileage after that.. but i'm sure it wasn't near as good

kristiano i didnt know you were a 3 liter... in that case if i were you i would probably run 4.30 gears.. (assuming you have an 8.8) i think that would be a good equivalent to what setup i have..

OR if you do a lot more city driving i would run 4.56 gears..
OR if you do a lot more highway driving i would do 4.10 gears..

but thats just my personal opinion

yea see thats the thing is I do a bit of both. Thats why Im torn between them... I run a lawn service so Ive got highway and prolly mostly city. Now wont the bigger gear ratio cut back on my power in higher RPMs? or is that falso..

the lower the gear, the more off idle accel you will have. you will start to loose overall speed compared to stock. the tires will help in counteracting that. i would go with a 4.30. if you tow for work, that will help, but wont be to much for the highway.

i would say so. its better to have a little more, than not enough. hell i ran 5.13s in my 4cyl with 33s. that was a blast when i put the stock 14" rims back on, and i couldnt do faster than 50 on I-10
