Its funny at the track, a lot of other guys there that own a fullsize will come up adn say hey I gotta race against a ranger.... when pretty clearly if you pay attention to the times down at the end you would know if you can take a ranger or not. Mainly Dodge Dakota guys will say that to me... no offence to any Dodge Dakota drivers but they are some cocky *****, just because they have a v8 they think they own everyone.... well jokes on them when they have to work on it for tearing it up

 

I want to race a 4.0 Ranger, I think it would be close stock vs stock.

 

I spanked some guy in a riced out honda civic the other day on my way home from work it was great. When i stepped on the gas as the light turned green, im sure he started to have second thoughts.

 

i've smoked many o rangers, handful of integras(late 90's), a couple stangs(not gt's) and too many ricers 2 count Oh ya and the other dat my old lady and I raced, She was in her Lexus IS300 me in 4wheel drive high and I smoked her off the line and the rest of the way....

 

raced a fool in a hate to say it good lookin sdime( it had black 18's and was shaved all the way around and bagged)

at the light i let him get two or 3 lengths on me then i started and he had me up until 3rd gear.. right where my engine picks up and before i knew it i was in 5th doing 85 and he was WAY the hell back there

 

4.0 ranger spanks the 5.4 everytime lol. in stock form at least.

but i hate dakotas. and for having a v8, they're slow as *****.
the R/T with the 5.9 is the only one worth mentioning. and they aren't even 4wd. dakotas are ugly and ghey.

 

The v8 magnum dakotas are fast as heck. If I were to do a street truck, that'd be what I chose.

 

the old ones? with the 4.7? hellll no they werent

maybe the newer body style. but those are even uglier then the previous gen

 

im not sure about that, after driving my F-150, im very certain my ranger would kill it.

 

my buddy has a BAD dakota R/T. its fast and looks real good inside and out. oh and same guy has a power wagon. about a early or mid 80s model. he wont admit it when i beat him lol. he always wants to race up hill and i cant beat him doing that. but on flat ground he cant touch me.

 

I beat my dads civic from a 25mph roll with no problems.

One day there was a guy in a mustang driving 30mph in a 45mph and everyone was passing him. Well, I think by the time I went to pass him he was pissed off because he punched it. I put it to the floor thinking I was going to loose. I had him until my trans (auto) went to shift into 3rd (or what ever gear it is before overdrive). I was a little more then half a car length ahead and it got stuck in gear, I ended up hitting the rev limiter so I backed off and he won.


Those are the only 2 that I won or at least barely lost that I can remember right now for the ranger. The chevy I have won against 4 or 5 and kinda hung with a duramax.

 

Meh. I'm sure it was a 2.7 v6 which only puts out 190 HP and it weighs more than a Ranger. The 3.5 would beat you, the 5.7 would smoke you and the 6.1 would blow your doors off.

 

I had a '94 Dakota 4x2 with a 5.2L 318 V-8 5 spd Manual Tranny.. That truck picked on 5.0L Mustangs without a problem lol

 

I beat a Hyundai Elantra.

 

all this street racing.. it SOOO COOL lets all just keep bragging about it.. morons

 

I know with my programmer I could take it, off the line stock I'm pretty sure the ranger would have it but after 30 is where the 5.4 pulls...hard.

I wish I knew someone with a 4.0 around here, everyone has a 3.0 lol

 

Anyone claiming to have beat someone with a 3.0, I'm calling bullsh!t. 100%. They either didn't know you were "racing" them or didn't care.

thats what i figured.. i was going to sya.. i have beaten a few guys off the line..( on an obandend airstirp) but the OHV's top speed sucks! shes got lots of tourqe though..

 

Uhhh... 5.2's and 5.9's

Both well into the 200's with power with a nice torque band and plenty of room for improvement. They take well to simple exhaust and intake upgrades. Not impossible to have a midsized truck with 300+whp on the stock motor with out much work.
