Want to Install an ID bar on my rear under tailgate
I bought An LED ID bar a few months back and Havent got around to putting it on. Yesterday when I went to try to mount it I realized the the Hole to lower the spare tire Is in the way... Now should I Mount the bar over the hole and keep a tool with me to remove if necessary. Or should I Try to mount it under the bumper above the Hitch (this Option isnt as clean as the first)
Hear is a Pic of something similar to what I got (It is grounded through the mounting screws) http://ep.yimg.com/ca/I/yhst-5253399658814_2097_4033733 Another option is get the older style spare carrier that is held up by a bolt instead of a cable ( I would rather stay away from this option) |
get another one of those and mount on on either side of the spare tire hole

hmm thats a good idea... Should i then hook them up to the brake lights or just the running lights

Remove the plastic thing around the hole, then mount up your light. Keep a screw driver in the truck just in case.
Something to think about.....some clearence lights will fit there.....some won't. My first one didn't fit too well and hit my tailgate leaving three 2" rubs of no paint on the bottom lip of my tailgate because the lamp was so 'deep'. Here's what I've got on mine now.....TONS of clearence and looks ( .Y. )'s! It's a Peterson Manufacturing 169-3 in red. Peterson Manufacturing Company Price is about $20 or so and I got it from my local sporting goods/farm supply store. Wal Mart carries Peterson lighting products too...idk about their LED line though. http://pmlights.com/assets/products/sm34977127.jpg http://i243.photobucket.com/albums/f...g/P4300073.jpg Attachment 113287 Attachment 113288 |
