Wyotech UTI ?

What do you think of them?
Have any of you been to either of them?
I'm going to be a senior this year and I am thinking of going to a school like one of these, so I'm just looking for opinions and or options.
Thanks

It's excellent vocational training. But to make it pay off, you have to have the job discipline too. The Dealers near the school in Rancho, CA will hire the more promising grads, but most don't last very long.

I to am looking into going to Wyo also. I've noticed a few of the kids that went from my school started out as "garbage" so I assumed they wouldnt' amount to anything anyway..lol. I maybe doing a Campus tour sometime later on this year. I'll let you know what I find out.

you basically learn the basics (there are 'electives' that you can take aka hotrod, and import tuning).

After you finnish the basic stuff, then u can goto a manufactor (aka toyota, ford, bmw) and take that corse.

I'm at wyotech currently, its pretty cool. I went to check out the uti in rancho and it was really expensive, I think $35,000 for the two years? And I have heard that dealers and shops like wyotech over uti, but either way you arent going to get hired until you are almost done with the classes. Its not only basics, its good enough to where after the class you should be able to pass the ASE subject you covered, but as it is with any other school, the more you put in it the more you take out, they arent going to wait around for you!
Wyotech is teaching you to be a technician, not a mechanic, so you will be able to diagnos problems and fix them, not just replace parts...

Im at UTI AZ campus (as soon as i go back from medical leave). I like it alot. But if you put no effort into it you get NOTHING out of it. Alot of people say it sucks and the learned nothing....they were the ones takin smoke breaks every 15 mins. My cousin is starting wyo in Sep but ive never looked into it.. To really get the most out of it though you should get a job at a garage. you'll learn soo much more if your actually putting knowledge learned to use instead of going home and sleeping the rest of the day. good luck!
