Sounds like a 4BT Cummins, a 4 cyl mechanically injected version of the 12 valve 5.9l found in the Dodge's. There are guys pushing 600+ HP out of them little guys. That is what my truck is getting when the 4.0 goes.

5.9 looks the same, plus 2 cylinders. Sounds similar to 5.9, but a 4 cyl.

The 4bt was found in a lot of bread trucks, delivery trucks (small ones). It's a badass motor, and produces some serious numbers with little modification. I love the 12v motors. They are just solid, minus the KDP issues, but those are easy to fix.

That truck is awesome, it would be sweet to beable to rip smoke outta the ol' Ranger. Nothing better of a swap then a 4bta 8valve 3.9L 4cylinder.

Me too, but it'd be fun to have, see what it'd pull. There was a photo in an article in "Diesel Power" that showed a 4bt Dodge Dakota pulling his way to the 138 foot mark. Not bad for a 4 cyl. I thought. It'd also be nice to make biodiesel and run through it, the Ford ranger fuel expense would be cut big time.
