Threw a CEL

I was driving with my GF to go to the driving range to try to get her to start golfing and my truck shot a CEL. Nothing has been running strange and I didn't fill up recently and the tank is half-full. My dad called the dealership to talk to his buddy there and got an appointment in for tomorrow early (great to have my dad know people). The guy said it could just be from getting near to hitting 50k? Does this sound right. He also said it could be from the exhaust I put on. He said sometimes it trips one of the o2 sensors or something. But I'll let you guys know the outcome.

There is no code based on hitting 50K. After you get it read, you will have a direction to go. Be sure that they give you the exact ALPHANUMERIC code (like Pxxxx), not just a vague description like "EGR" or "too rich". The trouble code definitions are here:

Autozone here isn't open for some reason and neither is advance. I don't know of any other place that would do it so the dealership will. It's all under warranty anyways.

mine comes on every now and then, sometimes it flashes for a few minutes. I used the scanner at work, and it tells me cyl. #1 misfire, i've only heard/felt it once though, and everything is fine, so it seems.

Check your spark plug for cracks.

I had a high flow across the EGR valve CEL. Could that be from the cutout section on my airbox?

okay i know this sounds stupid but check you gas cap...mine did exactly what yours did...i was about half of a tank and it threw a cel...went to advance and i think the code was 455 but im not sure something about a leak...if that means something else let me know...i took the cap off and the guy erased the code so we will see if it comes back

I had about 46,xxx when i had a CEL no warranty. Ended up being the DFPE Sensor which I was told was covered under Ford's Hidden warranty for that part. So all was taken care of for free.
