It was stock spindle. We determined it was bearing failure. I repacked them back at the beginning of the summer or late spring so that's make me kinda upset. It is what it is.

thats sucks. you should have known there was a problem though. a bearing will ALWAYS give you signs of trouble before it ever has a chance to do that kind of damage.

but then again... maybe your like me and play your music so loud you cant even think let alone hear your truck crying for your help lol

Ya, that's the weird thing. I never heard anything going on. The only sign something was going to happen was when it pulled hard to the left.

I do play it quite loud though lol

typically you will always hear a growl/ grinding noise and sometimes feel it in the steering wheel when going around a corner. especially when they get real bad

Never had any of that and that's what makes it weird. I should have had some kind of sign.

were the bearings melted? or did it just snap off? could have already had a hairline crack in the spindle

I'm not sure since I lost the rim. I could see the hot spot around the spindle though.

Getting parts to fix it at Christmas. Looking now for a set of stock size tires for the truck.
That's bs you have damage to the truck from it. I would fight them to fix it. There are plenty of accidents that are caused by mechanical failure and they take care of it.

Who is your insurance through? I would consider talking to a lawyer.

I'm going to talk to them again. Atleast to take full coverage off since its not worth it at this point.

It should be covered. Maybe not the mechanical part, but the body damage should be.

Jeez!
Glad you're OK.
I hope you had an extra pair of underwear in the truck... I bet you needed them after that.

I agree with everyone. Truck looks good, get it fixed. Fight your insurance company because that's BS, I think the body damage should be covered. Glad everyone is ok.

Even if they covered the fender or any other body damage, it might not be worth filing a claim if the deductible is more then the cost of paying outta pocket for a new fender and any other damage.

Well got the parts together to fix the front end. Bought an '01 front frame section off craigslist for $150. It only has 29,000 miles on it. Thanks to my dad for getting it and doing the work on the truck since its in Indiana and I am back in Mississippi.

Thinking about going back to 31's and a skinnier rim since they seem a little more friendly with the truck. Any thoughts?
