Looking into Rangers!

Hey everyone! Recently been on craigslist looking for a truck and came across one that needs breaks all around including calipers, rotors and pads. Have yet to test drive it, but I was wondering if anyone had an estimate of what it would cost me. It's a 2000 Ranger with 108K on it sounds like a good deal but would like to hear what some other people think about it.

Considering your description is correct, the truck has the 4.0 in her. These are great motors, at 108k on it, its basically new still.
For the brakes issues, you could check on Rockauto.com

Do you have any thing I should keep an eye out for when I test drive it? What are common things that go bad? Just don't wanna make a bad buy

Did the 2000s still have the timing chain issue?

seeing as it's a 2000, its more than likely a 4.0 OHV therefore, no issues.

2001-mid 2003 had the timing chain issues on the SOHC

Look over the frame carefully would be my main concern.

Probably $70 a wheel for Brakes, Rotor (and Drums) and Calipers.
(Calipers are still like $30 with core, right?)

At 108K make sure the Valve cover isn't leaking yet and check the rear main seal. My valve cover gasket went around 110k I think.
