Drove it, cleaned the trash out of the bed that some how finds its way back there.

And to add to the conversation, my 98 4.0L takes 10w30, my aunts 93 4.0L takes 10w30 and my dads 02 4.0L SOHC took 10w30. Says it right on their oil fill caps.

The snorkels are the vent tubes that allow excess pressure created by the diff gears to be released. The stock ones are so short that going into a substantial mud/water pit would end up allowing water to back flow into the diff. Extending them high enough does the same thing a snorkel intake does for the motor.... Allows you to run the truck in deeper holes without getting water in vital components. I will do the same to the transfer case and transmission soon just to make the under side safer to run in deep water.

Yea he did I took the pads out and cleaned it off with a blade. It didn't stick because of the grease on the back side.

Brake cleaner will strip the paint off almost immediately. Spray it and get a rough rag to start wiping that Chevy dirt off.... Haha

I kinda like the color. Looks like kubota orange lol but what ever it's better than the rust they use to have.

Looks like I'll be swapping out the idler pulley later this month as well. Since the truck is going to sit a while, no risk in snapping the belt. It's only squealing on very cold mornings or if it's a cold start after raining all night. They are quick and easy swaps in the 4.0, so I'll just get an OEM pulley from Ford and throw it on. Little by little, this truck will remain new :)

Replaced the fuel filter....so easy on this year truck! Going to look into a new idler and belt tensioner as well. I have some scraping coming from the tensioner as well as some bounce during belt rotation. I know some bounce is acceptable to maintain dynamic pressure on the belt (within a certain threshold), but it seems a bit much for me.

I also have a Dynomax straight through resonator that I may work with to just build my own axle back. The dealer slapped on some Pepboys-special parts and u-bolt clamps and I just don't like the look or the moisture leak at the seams (improper aligned gasket and bolts). With the resonator, I'm going to just make it like the MBRP turndown kit and have it high enough for good clearance and exiting just before the rear axle.

More often than normal for the season or just because it is getting colder ?

Hasn’t snowed in the Northeast yet, knock on wood.

Got Kuhmo MT 265-75-16 tires today and they look sexy and I couldn't get stuck if I tried earlier at a local spot.

Today I started doing some prep work for my new exhaust I got from 04RangerDave. I did a simple sand and polish while I was at work and the results look amazing. I can't wait to get them on!
