60 lb tubular packs of sand, use over the axle to help traction, sometimes they break open. I might get some anyway as the sand can be use for traction if you get stuck.

Trying to break your bubble... " Not Rat Shack"... PLEASE !
I wouldn't want you disappointed with a CB by using Rat Shack Products.

Look for a Uniden PRO520XL Compact CB Radio with PA Jack and RF Gain Control or even the 510 model, a little less both in features and $$$ !
These will out perform any Rat shack Rig, size is small, plenty of talk power and great receive and if needed will accept a power mic for even more talk power.
You should be able to find one used because there were a lot sold.
If you can't find one used new they are around $60 new.

I know this is going against what you are thinking but think about what you are doing and the fact that you do not want to be too disappointed with the performance.

For $5.00 it was too good to pass up. Bought for old times sake just to play around with. Already had antennas so no need for any other investments. Was told it transmits nice & clear when talking to others. It will serve its purpose.
Thanks for the heads up anyways.

its the price i pay for living in a wooded area and working a night shift.
Trucks ok really. Broke the headlight and corner lights. Already orded some used ones off ebay. Made a few calls to local wrecking yards, waiting to hear back about the doors.

It's a good thing about old Fords, you can find plenty of fairly reasonable spares.

I've got four inflated 215/70R15 tires (which I just happened to have laying around in the shop) under a sheet of plywood in the bed of my truck this winter. Seems to be enough weight over the axle to limit the slippage quite a bit, a huge advantage over running nothing back there and I don't have to worry about cleaning up sand come spring time :)

Bumper Dent

Pushed out a bumper dent and with a small heat gun I was able to make it stay out.

Repaired the cruse ON button

I bought this 2000 a month ago and the only problem with the interior was this missing ON button cover. A piece of rubber cut to fit then enough excess to slide under the horn button and I thought this worked well .

Just a small amount of super glue applied with a tooth pick along the outer radius then the excess under the horn button keeps it in place.

Replaced the tailgate handle.

Replaced the tailgate handle with the all metal replacement on my 2000. It helps to zip tie the mechanism open then just clip the tie after the new handle is bolted in..

Your not going to find me out roaming the U wrench it after November and probably not until April. I’m in garage hibernation just doing what I can. I will look around later, this button cover is the only bad spot in the entire interior.

Driving in CT the other day (I'm from MA), I got a couple of misfire codes. Make it home, replace coil pack adn wires, no difference. Going to do the fuel injector of the trouble cylinder (#2) today.

Well it actually snowed here today. The windshield was iced over pretty nice. EVen after 20 mins of warming up and defroster there was still a bunch a ice. Took a plastic putty knife to it, worked pretty well.

The door was frozen shut and I ended up cutting my finger (on the ice) trying to open it.

Keep in mind I'm only 25 miles north of Florida. Its never this cold and it never snows here!
