Well lets see. It wasn't today but just this past weekend I ended up replacing both of the wheel cylinders, rear shoes, hardware, and right rear brake line on my 02 FX4.
Ironically enough, just today a brake line burst on my g/f's 94 XLT so I took that brake line off (steel line connecting the driver and passenger side rubber lines together in the front) and tomorrow I'll be going to Advance Auto for a new one.
I've also discovered an oil leak but I don't know just yet where it's coming from....

OH THANK YOU RANGER FORUM!
For the last 10 months, a slow creeping run of degrading mileage has been taking over my 2001 Ranger Edge 4.0L SOHC motor. To tackle it (remember it was a slow degrading of mileage) I did an oil change (last october, needed one couldn't hurt so why not?), then we did the plugs/wires using autolite platinums and autolite plug wires (9 1/2 years on em and they were def needed for sure), did a trans filter/fluid thinking it was slipping (after forum folks said it was req. every 30K but after Mrs and I did the job I found its 30K requirement was only if heavy duty usage otherwise lifetime fill no need to change or flush). Since that tranny filter/gasket/4quarts refill last week, it throws a CEL bank one and two lean (P0104/P0107) and while researching a cooling system flush and coolant replacement, I asked the Ford service dept check-in guy what would throw a CEL P0104 and P0107 (bank one and two lean). What he said, coupled with what this forum said (researching this forum) both were common to a vacuum leak. Well, I found the posts about the 90 deg elbows having cracks in it resulting in leaks and throwing a P0104/P0107! I looked first at the one on the drivers side rear valvecover (at PCV valve) and it was fine. I then went to the one on the pipe going from the air intake to the tube connecting to the line going to the PCV valve, and it was fine. The third one I found hooked on to the fitting at the throttle body (the one where the coolant lines are hooked into) AND THAT WAS THE ONE!!! That elbow looked perfect, but when squeezed/pinched along its inner and outer corners, a long crack was exposed. After removing the elbow, I cleaned it off and applied a little suction to one end while plugging the other end. As the elbow collapsed, the crack opened inward, and it lost all vacuum. BINGO! Now, since I have many junk parts laying around here and there, I scrounged a washing machine hose suitable for the place it was mounted (as a testbed minimum) and after grasing it lightly, placed it into position. Then I made sure all the powertrain computers were sufficiently wiped by disconnecting the battery and turning on the headlights for 30 seconds, and reconnecting the battery. I then placed the plastic cover back in place (throttle body/cables), and I cranked it over. After an initial 2000 rpm, it quickly cycled down (after about a minute or so) to about 600 rpm! This truck hasn't been at 600 rpm for over 10 months!!!!! Chalk another repair to my Mrs and I, with the EXPERT advice/postings from this forum! I cannot wait to drive all over the place tomorrow and the next few weeks to see if (1) that washer hose piece sustains itself in place without melting or collapsing, and (2) the milage/driveability improves!
Thats what my Mrs and I did for, and to, my Ranger, TODAY!

Put the top on a little closer to the cab. Drove 200 miles just driving around for crap to finish projects... Found out the wife had never been to a junkyard so we made a stop and they had 2 rangers... an 86 that probably had a good glovebox ( and nothing else) and a 93 that was stripped of all but its busted up bed... Depressing, that place used to have all kinds of stuff there.... Took the wiper arms off and removed the rust spots, sanded, primed and painted, will install in the morning.

Prepped and painted the battery tray with Por-15. Cut back the negative cable wire, cleaned up some corrosion and installed Tsunami battery terminals
youre kidding me...they sell these at Vatozone for $10? And its like twice as short as my Underdog shorty antenna and about $15 cheaper?
I love stuffforyourranger.com but man....

Bought a 3year old Extang soft snap tonneu off a guy with a mazda for $40.
I cut it down to fit my box with a checkerplate tool box. The clamps that came with the tonneau were for a cap... and ceased, so I managed to loosen them up with out cracking the aluminum. Then I modified the rails so that the clamps would fit. Then I noticed the bowed cross pieces had originally gone into the original clamps, so they were now too short, so then I had to modify the cross pieces. Then had to customize some J bolts for the tool box... and the vice grips were rusty so I had to used some WD and a vice to loosen them up, but the squirter for the WD didn't work... man. At least the self drilling screws to hold the vinyl to the front rail worked like a charm.
