What do you like most about your Ranger pickup?

Like the title says... If you were to ask me this question this is the answer you would get...

"I like my Ranger, because it's basic. 2wd, rubber floors, manual everything (trans, windows, locks, mirrors) so there is less to go wrong. It looks good for a mini truck. I know the limitations of it, and if I need a bigger truck I just grab my fullsize one."

On my dealer lot you can't find a "base" truck in stock... It would have to be ordered in.

Mcleary316 03-13-2013 11:32 PM

Its got big tires. (finally)

Scrambler82 03-14-2013 06:51 AM

The size of the std cab short bed, the overall look, still looks like a truck.
If the power level was up some, small V8 that is, then it would be even better.

phatspeed7x 03-14-2013 08:49 AM

I just looked at your build thread Scrambler. You have a awesome truck!

fitsector 03-14-2013 11:03 AM

I used to like the simplicity of my truck, when going wheeling no worries about dirt and dust, Just a tough thing,

06RangerXLT 03-14-2013 11:23 AM

durability, simplicity, fitment, quality, very useful, cheap to run.

wyldechild 03-14-2013 11:48 AM

In stock form? I like that it is a 5 speed manual. I enjoy driving manuals and I like having a truck. Its near impossible to find a manual tranny in a newer truck.

Favorite mod? Thats a hard one. Overall, probably tint and exhaust. But the lift/wheels/tires/system are up there too.

honestly nothing aside the stares and compliments i get when i actually drive it haha

Thanks, I have a lot of projects pending, Adult ADD...

This spring and summer is the Ranger's time to shine.
Starting with the rear bumper and on to the front and then the stereo.

Thanks for looking.

ranger4.0 03-14-2013 04:54 PM

i love mine because it is fun to drive

FordTough2007 03-15-2013 09:36 AM

didnt we already have a thread like this?

anyways. i like how i can jump into it and go and park it anywhere. butnow thats about it... other then people who always think its a v8 due to the exhaust..

i liked it alot more in high school. i never had to give anyone rides, it was new and i didnt have to work on it so much..now i have a bigger truck and i dont drive it as much. its an easy truck to outgrowq

rolsmojave3 03-15-2013 09:41 AM

It's cheap to own. It's cost me about $1200 in repairs, $500 of that is tires, since 2007. I would say that's getting by cheap with a 4wd

red_rider 03-15-2013 08:16 PM

Simple/reliable, inexpensive, clean truck styling, easy to maneuver compared to a full-size, and good mpg of course.

racsan 03-16-2013 06:22 PM

i like that its enough of a truck for what i need/use one for and is still good enough on gas to be able to drive it daily, mines 20 years old now, not replacing it any time soon, sure theres some minor issues, but it gets the job done and has been very reliable. favorite thing ive put on is the hurst shifter, had it on about 6 years now, was only about $200 then, but worth it! if i got another manual ranger, the first thing id do would to swap the shifter for a hurst!

big-blue-oval 03-17-2013 12:11 PM

I like the size, other than it can only seat two comfortably.

I like the reliability.

I like the fuel economy. Not!

01_ranger_4x4 03-17-2013 12:59 PM

Its fun

art'sauto 03-18-2013 10:20 AM

Four cylinder, 5 speed stick = 27mpg! Fun to drive, easy to park, not too noisy on the road...

IN2 FX4 03-22-2013 06:06 PM

It does everything I need it to do.

chuck7 03-23-2013 01:53 AM

The 4x4has got me out of many jams...and I've pulled 2 people out of very tough spots..The 4x4 power is unbelievable..CD player is verynice too. The extended cab makes it great for hunting.

Froggmann 03-24-2013 06:26 PM

Tows and hauls everything I ask of it and looks good doing it. Ex-cab has plenty of room for all the crap I want to throw in it and good fuel economy for a 4wd pickup (20mpg average, 23-25mpg hwy). It's exactly what I wanted and needed in a truck. I've owned it for nearly 5 years and I like it more now then when I bought it. I plan I driving this truck until it turns to dust.

TheAbstracted 03-29-2013 12:05 AM

I don't feel like I'm driving a lumbering bus, I get decent mileage with the ability to throw and toss whatever I want in the back with ease, and there's nothing quite like the standard transmission on a true compact pickup.

Another Ranger 04-28-2013 11:48 PM

It's not a bigger truck...like a Ford 150!

red_rider 05-02-2013 11:39 PM

Just like others have said. Clean styling, actually fits in a parking spot, plus the stick and manual everything. 23-25 mpg combined. I will add in that I love my Truetrac limited slip, just need some new/better tires for next winter.
