what do you think of the new svt raptor

Go to Toyota's website. $32K for a 4x4 TRD packaged Crew Cab. All i added was their option packages with the LSD and a roof rack (i see lots like that, im going with whats commonly out there)
The Accord's highest trim level STARTS at $31K. Playing with that and adding ONLY a set of their optional wheels got me to over $35K for a V6 Coupe with an auto trans. (they charge the same for auto or manual) Add the factory sport body kit to the car (yes, i see them out there like that too) and the price swells from there.
I know alot of Rangers are sold used, but christ it sounds like you've never bought a new car before. They cost alot and options get out of hand fast if you dont watch it.

Again. New Accord with everything for 28K.

I didnt know that. Its not like i bought a Ranger that stickered at $22K for $16K. Oh wait, I totally did.
Im not talking transaction prices. The point brought forth was that Ford is asking too much for the truck in the first place.
Is $32K out of line for a Tacoma?

im gonig to say it again. The states, SO much cheaper for everything, id gladly buy a raptor for $40,000 the 09 f-150 platinum is almost 60 grand here. hell, when i got my 08, a brand new Fx4 LII was about $37,000. why? no idea, exact same truck the states has, dollar is almost par again. As far as the Raptor goes, i dont even think they are available in canada, i checked the ford.ca site and nothing about it, never seen one advertised or anything here. If anyone knows they are coming to canada, let me know, I'd love to see their price here haha
edit: adding the taco TRD, over $40,000

I'll agree with you there. The Canadians get raped by everyone when it comes to new cars. Sad seeing as alot of them are built there to begin with.

I would pay 32 for the Tacoma. For that 32 you get one of the best and most reliable trucks out there. I have no real need for a full size and I hate my Ranger. Nissan isn't very good and the Colorado is crap. So Tacoma. But then I also see that 32 and think I could get a full size for that much. I don't need a full size right now but I might one day.

Nor would I pay $32K for a Tacoma. Id rather step into a Tundra for that price if i was set on a Toyota.
I am however, biased as all hell, so i wouldnt (and didnt) buy either one when i had the cash so there. When shopping for a vehicle after my Ranger was totaled, i cross shopped a G8 GT, Rangers and Mustangs. I made my choice, i stick by it and itll be paid off in 6 months.

Yea IMO they are a bit pricey but I think it offer's a lot. I just don't like how the bumper and skid plate look, it needs a well built tube bumper and heavy duty skid plate. The grill looks awsome which sets it apart from the regular f150. I still want to go out and just test drive one to see how it drives. I'm waiting for the 6.2 though!

It is still a F150. Yes we know what bypass shocks are. Did you know you could buy them for your truck now from the aftermarket?

wow that black raptor is amazing. i have no where to use it and hate the idea of extended cab full sizes but man i would buy that if i could leave 40K now. i like the idea of it. looks good. sure you can build one which would be fun but its a new alternative to that. get all the fancy gizmos and all with the suspension durability and even a warranty. i like it. if i lived by dunes and deserts id buy one. there thinking about a Screw version. that will sell like hot cakes.

You have proof of people dieing in roll overs in Tacomas? Last time I checked the roof of my Ranger is a flimsy piece of sheet metal.

If the raptor is just another f-150, why is it 4 inches wider, why are the front A's heavier, as well as the CVs? What about a rear axle with beefed up tubes and better shock mounts? Sounds like every F150 i have ever seen

I am very glad you do. Yea you can buy mostly external bypass shock, internals are very new to the market.
