What do you use for undercoat

Can you guys tell me what you recommend for undercoating for salt belt places?

I’ve been reading about mixing grease and candle wax together I’m thinking on trying that Out this year.
thoughts ?

Ever notice how metal doesn't rust underneath oil leaks? An oil based undercoating will be your best bet. Most rubber or tar based under coatings that advertise creating a "protective barrier against rust and moisture" may actually end up trapping the moisture and salt behind the coating, which can cause your frame to rust from the inside out. You really want a coating that can breathe.

that is true , however my only concern is how quickly it will get washed off. Ever spill oil on a floor ? If you wash it away with a hose it dissipates quite quickly. I undercoated my truck with oil last oil change and it looks as if it wasn’t undercoated ( 1 month later )
