That is exactly what it is. If tightening/replacing your cap doesnt work check the vent lines. I had one come off a few months ago, took me about 3 months to find it though lol. It was a hose that came disconnected just inside the drivers front fenderwell. If you have a BL I would check this since I think that's what caused mine (after about 2 years though lol)

def gas cap light. check the lines like said above. maybe you need to replace the gas cap because it isn't holding pressure?? maybe it just isn't tightened down good enough...

The thing is my gas cap throws the cel. Not this light. All the lines are secure under the truck. Gas cap was tight. Idk. Maybe I'll buy a new cap and try that.

They wont disable it for you. Put all the sensors in a wheel barrel tire and pump to whatever PSI then throw the tire in the back.

that light is check gas cap, it will come on for a small evap leak and the CEL will come on for a large evap leak (correct me if im wrong bob)

also, for the tpms sensors in a wheel barrel tire, that will not work because the bed will stop the signal from reaching the tpms module. take one tire off and put it in the bed and the tire light will come on, even if it is properly inflated. i have sensors somewhere ill sell you....brand new

Hmm. I didn't know this. The Toyota guys use the wheel barrel tire trick so I figured it might work for Rangers. All well.

Question. Does Ford use a pressure sensor in the spare tire? I know Chevy and Honda do.

Ok. I was going to say that if the spare did then how is the computer reading the pressure from it.
