I've got a 2002 2.3l that I've managed to get 22-23 mpg in the city. I'm not sure yet what my mpg is on the highway. I purchased this truck a month ago and am still in the process of getting used to it. It only has 14k miles on it and I hope to see it reach at least 100k.

Yeah, well the I-5 in the Gm twins has more power on paper, but the 4.0 has more on the road. I have a few friends that have colorados and they all say the same thing, my ranger is fast, well faster than there trucks..... Aside from that, there aren't any other trucks in out category, every other truck is a midsize....

technically they are midsize but for all practical comparisons they are still considered in the rangers class, and their 4.0's kick the rangers 4.0's ***

I drive a 2001 Ranger Edge Ext. Cab with the 4.0. Around town I get around 18mpg(but I have a tuner and exhaust). Last time I check my highay milage it was just under 22mpg(I didn't have a tuner then, just exhaust).
