What should I switch out while the engine is pulled?
I’m about to buy a 2006 ford ranger 4.0l. I’m buying it for cheap because it has a bad timing chain in the rear so I’m going to have to pull the motor. I was wondering while I have it pulled what are the best things to switch out? I don’t want to go to crazy with it. I’m trying to keep it as a “budget build”. Thank you for any advice
The 4.0l has two timing chains. so while it out do both front and rear along with the tensioners. Replace the plastic thermostat housing with an aluminum. Go over all the coolant hose and replace. Valve cover gasket too.
