I'm never going to get my Ranger finished...
Like many of the working middle class, I have the worst of both worlds.
No garage and the crappiest weather that North East PA has to offer.
I guess I'll drive my Saturn all winter and pray we don't get more then 3" of snow all winter.
LoL this is just me griping because I still haven't figured out what's causing my tranny to grind....

I don't understand what the problem is, I mean, your temps are 10* or more above what I've got right now and most of the time you're not even getting below freezing at night. Then again, I don't say much about the weather until it's 0* AND the wind blowing. Seriously, looks to me like you've got some decent outdoor days where you're at; wished I had that luxury for a few more weeks. Enjoy the prolonged fall weather and this alleged "global warming"!!!

I'm sorry, I should have specified.
The problem is the ONLY day I have off next week is Monday. Look what it's supposed to do all day.
My poor father (he's almost 70 for cripes sakes) and I were out working on the Ranger ALL day in the freezing *** cold with the wind blowing so damn hard that I thought it was going to blow my truck off the jack stands. It took us all fricken day just to get transfer case bolts off. They were ON there!!!
Not that I haven't done worse repairs, with lesser tools, in much worse weather....
But I don't see myself getting my truck done before the "good" winter weather hits.
This sux because I really wanted 4wd for the winter.

55* and a few showers, sounds like a tee shirt kind of day and maybe step under cover if a little squall passes through the area. Pound down a few beers until it passes, then back to work. I could kill to have 55* right now, instead it's 35*, snow from last night is melting and I get to go stomp in the mud this afternoon. Look at the bright side, it could always be worse. :D

It could be worse, yes, but when you're dealing with the frustration of being short on time and workable temps... and especially not knowing what is causing the problem in the first place... life gets frustrating.
Meh... I need to go to the dealership tomorrow and PRAY that they either have or can get the parts I need.
Then, I get to put the transfer case back on, attempt to put everything back together, and hope that my original problem is solved.

Anhyway... the trouble I'm having at the moment is finding parts, but the underlying cause of WHY I've started this mad project is because I had installed a brand spanking new $400 Centerforce Clutch, new slave cylinder, and replaced almost all the hardware..... and the transmission now makes a grinding noise when attempting to shift gears. It's also difficult to actually get into gear (doesn't matter if at idle or throttle).
So that's my gripe for this Monday morning. LOL I'd better get done what I can today because my "vacation" ends today.

Yes.
Evidently, however, I've bled it wrong 3 times now.
I went to the dealer today. Had a nice long talk with them and even bought some parts.
They were kind enough to email me the "service procedure" for bleeding the clutch slave cylinder.
cripes....
