285/75R16's are 33's. I think your rims are 16x7 (please correct me if I'm wrong). So if they are 16x7 and you go 285/75 they will bow out and wear unevenly in the centre because they need minimum 8" width. I just checked this out at like 3 shops so I'm fairly confident however there are a lot of guys on here with more experience than me that have run them. So long story short 285/75 is too big. ALSO I just had tires priced and to give you an idea 4 duratracs in 16 were 1400 and 15's were 1100 so buying new rims would pay for themselves in 2 sets for tires.

But like I said there are guys on here with more experience than me I just have been to a lot of shops lately because I'm trying to do the same thing.

I do have a set of 15" rims off my old ranger, I am looking for the tallest tire I can get without any issues.

Once again it depends on the width of the wheels. However most guys on here will agree that a 33" tire looks best with a 3" lift. But when it comes to how big you can go the width is your biggest issue once it's been lifted.

Wheels are 16" x 7" stock 5 spoke, anybody run jetzon mudclaws or trailblazers? I had mud claws on my old ranger which are pretty nice tires. Motor would die before those babies slipped :-)

285/75R16's on stock 5 spoke rims. They used to be on my ranger, but I went to a smidge bigger set. They are not wearing funny at all and the tread is level across. I have 20K or so on them half on the heavier ranger and half on the jeep. I also run a set of 33x12.50's on some expo 15x7's on the same jeep. Again no weird wear. Those are made for 15x10's (bias swampers).

Well i am now thinking about getting some differnt rims as well, My current set up has the the tires sitting well within the fender flares. I would like to have the wheels stick out a bit wider and fill out the flares. Is there spacers that could acheive this without having to get new rims? if not I'd be looking for a new black wheels with some type of offset to get a wider stance. I'd like to get a 31-33 Inch tire on the new wheels also if possible.

thanks for the help

If you decide on different rims, I would be interested in your stock ones.

you either want a 15x8 rim or 16x9 anything else will look like pizza cutters. edit- 17s would probably fit too 15s are probably too small

Those are cheaper than getting wheel spacers.

So do you know if the 265/75 would fit these rims? I have the same ones and I don't want to go any bigger without a lift. I have the 4x4 but not yet put on my torsion key leveling kit, I plan on putting them on before the bigger tires.
