. remember, NADA and KBB..all pre recession.
Even out of a recession... i can assure you your vehicle will not be sold private party for 11,000.. it just wont happen..and you sure as hex won't get 8k for it trade in (you should know..since you've sold cars half as long as i've been alive)
Also recall that you are still utilizing this vehicle.. in a couple of years - the price will drop significantly since Rangers lose value more than any other truck available on the market (which you should also know) so realistically speaking - in 2 years - you sure as heck wont get anywhere near 11 for it.

Remember this conversation when you decide to sell :)

here...have a picture of my car to feel better..out of curiosity - how much would ppl pay for it? Hehe

And have some ford love
Not so much getting defensive. Just know that my truck is worth way more then 7500. If I sell it, it wouldn't be till later in the year when I'm house shopping. So I know it'll still be worth a good bit.9-10k is reasonable, but the right buyer would pay more if its what they like.

On another note nice stang. I have an 03 gt.

Close, but then not at the same time. One I know it doesn't have the 4.0 in it. It is also a 2wd and I doubt it has any power options on it.8k is a good price for that truck though.

Due to the condition, mileage, and mods, I'd give around 10K. That would be on the high end in my opinion.

How can you assure something like that? You MIGHT be able to assure something like that if someone is asking an outrageous price, for a pos vehicle. But Mike isn't doing either. The truck is worth what someone is willing to pay for it...and if he were to post it up on C-list today at 11k OBO, i'd be willing to bet he would get quite a bit of interest.

I'd pay $7500-$8000 for a truck like that with those miles and mods.

Hate to say it, but you'd never buy a truck like mine for that lol. My trade in value is higher then that.

Its like most of what we buy and sell. What we want isn't as important as what someone is welling to give you for it. Thats when the options you added to it now become a loss when its time to sell. Its a great looking truck and looks like it took you a ton of cash to get it there. Post it at the price you want and see if you get anybody to come close to it. I hate it to, I know with the new Ranger is on its way the need for a used one is all based on how the new on sells. I think it might tank, The reason the Ranger lasted so long is that it stuck to its roots. Great truck at a even greater value.

Good Luck with the OBO's

You asked what people would pay. He said what he would pay. Maybe he could buy a truck like yours for that. Its defiantly not one of a kind. There a dime a dozen. This thread is getting ridiculous.

Its not actually for sale. I was just seeing what people thought they would pay if they saw my truck.

He could probably buy one older then mine with a few more miles on it for that, but around here trucks are like gold including rangers. I know I could get what the truck is worth NOT including any of the mods i've done to it. I know mine isn't one of a kind. There is hardly any vehicles in the world that are. Just out of curiosity what did you get for your old 98? Around here you can find the 98-00 with around 100k miles or so with the same options as mine for around 6-8k. I have low mileage on this truck for the year. If I had a bare bones regular cab with no options, but with the same mileage and year I could see it going for 6k easy in the south.

LOL. Yes it is. It seems at this point it\'s more of an ego thing than a feeler. You asked for opinions, and you\'re arguing most of them. You have to remember that the market will not typically bear the value of your vehicle plus the value of the mods. Very rarely does anyone get much more, if anything, than what the vehicle would sell for bone stock with the same mileage.

Edit: that was responding to 98liftedranger\'s comment that the thread is getting ridiculous

It's not an ego thing at all. I know I wont get any thing extra for the mods. I stated that multiple times, but to be quite honest. Some of the "offers" of how much people would pay are low ball offers. 10k for my truck is reasonable, but seriously 7500 for a fully loaded low mileage 04? That's just ridiculous.

What did you pay for your 2000 when you got it?

Here is a prime example. I did a 100 mile search on autotrader.com came up with 8 trucks that are 04-05. Almost all have more miles then mine. Now take a look at what they are asking.

Well, I can tell you that, at least in my area, Rangers are a dime-a-dozen. I paid $5k for mine, and only because it was immaculate inside and out, well maintained, and from a dealer, with a drivetrain warrantee. There was an identical one in a different color with a cap at the same dealer for similar money. There were also a half-dozen other similar model Rangers for sale in the area that were newer, some loaded, some with less, some with caps, and they all ranged from $5k-$7k. Maybe in your area they tend to run for more, but for a private sale, $8k is the most I'd pay, even in that condition, because of what else I could find around.

actually - it does have the 4.0 - and im pretty confident it is power it looks fantastic, has less miles than your truck - and similar mods.
In 2 years when you decide to sell - the price will be even lower. The way your talking now - I get the feeling your considering selling; which might be a smarter decision before the price drops.

as far as 3500 for my truck - thats about the price I paid for it and it looks and drives brand new - and better than any rangers i've seen in town (mine sits higher, and the wax etc. i put on it makes it look outstanding- although i will admit - some of the trucks on this site make my truck look like Junk)

04-05 only offered the 3.0 in the regular cab edges. The 4.0 in a regular cab were only offered in 01, 06 and maybe 07 and some older then 01.

my cuz needs a good truck - if he's willing to sell for around 6k cash up front - i'll letya' know
Did the 4.0s have bad transmissions too or was it just the 3.0?

I didn't sell the 98. I gave it to my parents when I moved out to Cali. I was gonna list it for $4500. But it needed a **** ton of work because I beat the **** out of it. It is now back to stock.
