whats the difference between a regular farm jack and the hi-lift farm jacks? i want to pick one up but i dont think anyone around here sells the hi-lifts, just the regular.

i think the hilift might be made better, i've used off brand ones and hi-lift brands.. you can tell, the hi-lifts work better when they get old too.

i dont think you can get a 60" farm jack can you? ive never seen one atleast.

 

theres a place that has 36", 48" and 60" farm jacks, i actually did find a place that sells the hi-lift, but they are $30 more then the farm jacks and have a max load of 3660 lbs. opposed to 6,000 lbs. for the regular farm jacks

 

i have a farm jack....works great. my brother has a 60" hilift and its pretty good too.... its a matter of if you firmly believe that its better and want to spend the extra dough. i personally just dont care. lol. they both work the same for me so its not a big deal. but everyone has their own opinion of them.

 

i had mine for like 3 years and never had an issue with it..

i've had to fight off brand ones to work right, that might just be me though.

 

I have used both off brand and high-lift jacks and can tell you the high-lift jacks seem to last much longer. My jacks are used pretty much every day between me and all of my friends/ fam deff worth the extra price!

 

yea i have an old handyman (what high lifts used to be called a LONG time ago) and it still works perfect

 

what would be better? 48" or 60"? the 48" is nice because it would be able to mount on my tiregate when i get/make it

 

you should be fine with the 48" with my RCD it was like 2 notches from the top when the tire left the ground jacking from the tow hook.

 

I've had my off brand Harbor Freight farm jack for a little over a year and have used it a number of times. It works just fine and I saved about $50, I believe.

 

Yep my harbor freight still works fine after about 4 years. I think my work payed for it back then. They didnt want to spring for a hilift.

 

You can find the HF one on sale for $39.99 pretty often too

 

meh, I'm still willing to drop the extra money. Idk what specifically i like about the hi-lift more.. i just do.

 

wow, not in canada, you cant even g et the hi-lift brand haha, unless i go to a specialty 4x4 store, but i think it was $149.99 there for the 48"
