What's it worth?

What's it worth?
I know some of you probably hate these threads - asking what vehicles are worth but...
What do you think my truck may be worth to sell? I've been having some bad thoughts lately.... thinking of selling and picking up a TJ.
I do have some reasoning behind it...
I don't drive it much since I got a work vehicle - it usually sits 2 weeks at a time and then feel bad for it sitting and take it to town on a Saturday afternoon for a drive.
I could use the cash difference between it and an older TJ for the house down payment.
I'm also thinking a lifted TJ would be fun year round, being a convertible and all. The only downside I'm seeing so far is the loss of the whole truck thing. I'm buying a house in the spring so I truck would be handy for moving things around, renos, etc.
Anyways... for those of you that don't know the truck:
2007 Level II 81,000km (50,000 miles)
Options are auto trans & Pioneer stereo w/ sub
I know mods don't mean much when selling and I'd be better off taking the lift off... just looking for an idea of what it may go for.
Here is the truck... older pics, but only differences now are stainless Superlift skidplate, Westin Safari Bar w/ Black Magic Hellas, Black billet grille and step bars.

Don't sell it. If you don't drive the Ranger that much what makes you think getting a different vehicle would change that? Wouldn't the TJ sit just as much as the Ranger would? Plus you said you're buying a house soon. It will be a lot easier moving into a house without having to borrow somebody's truck or trailer to move your stuff.

Don't get rid of it yet. I agree with rangerboy101, your gonna need a moving vehicle with some muscle. I also have a 2011 Fiesta I use to drive to work due to the excellent gas mileage. I use the car for that kind of travel, but I'll need the truck for moving large objects and farm work. Besides I gotta have an outlet for my modding bug and 4-wheelin.
Sit on the thought for a while and really think it though. Don't make a move till your really sure what you want to do.

From the financial point of view, sell it. Especially if you need to sell it to make a down payment on a house. You will miss it a bit, but you will enjoy the house way better. You can always pick up another Ranger later down the road. Then if you pick up an older Jeep, you will have a cheap older Jeep being driven once every two weeks instead of a 13-14k vehicle. Besides, without proper storage facilities, its crappy having to walk outside every morning and see your beloved truck just wasting away in the different weather conditions.
A great example: my Bronco. When I first got it it was my only truck. It stayed in the garage and I kept perfect care of it. Washed it all the time, drove it a few times a day different places. Now that I have my Ranger, I rarely drive my Bronco. I just walk out every morning and see it parked there, wasting away from the sun in the summer and the cold and snow in the winter. I don't take care of it anymore like I should. I almost consider it my "beater" now. Its a shame considering how clean it is.
But the difference there is i've tried selling my Bronco for 5k or so. No bites. So, I decided to keep it because its really not worth what I want it to be worth.

do not sell it for a jeep. remember... JUST EMPTY EVERY POCKET!!!! i couldnt believe how true this was until my best friend bought one and lifted it. it was constant maintenance and wear on stuff. you can still wheel the truck and have a very nice looking vehicle. the jeep will just make you want to burn it if it gets driven on the road

we used to have a jeep, (04 wrangler, 4.0, auto, both tops) i put on a 4in lift and 33s. milage was less that steller, but that jeep was the most capable truck i have ever driven off road. we sold it for a VR6 4motion. need better milage. i still miss the jeep for summer driving. winter driving was not super in the jeep, most likely due to the tires, but the sideways rear kick, all wranglers have took some getting used to. Now for the Ranger. nice to drive, better milage than the jeep, (with the lift on) haul more with the truck. the Ranger has more power for sure, and is much better driving at speed than the jeep was.
Not sure what advice or opinions to give between the 2. i would really prefer the Ranger over the jeep for day to day driving, but off road, the jeep all the way.
If you want to sell the Ranger to get into a house faster, than do it. you will miss the truck, when its gone. either way you go, (sell it or keep it) you will still get the house. time is the only factor.
You got a really nice truck though.

Jeeps are great vehicles. Only thing I don't like are the interiors.
And as everyone knows, the time is NOW to buy a house. If you can make it happen today with the resources you have today, then do it. Otherwise, time will slip by and prices will go back up and before you know it you won't be able to afford one. Don't let a vehicle that only makes you loose money get in the way of an investment that can potentially make you thousands and thousands of dollars.
Trucks are nice, but its nothing like having YOUR own house.
