Any chance you have two temp sensors, one for the ECM and the other for the gauge, and you replaced the one for the ECM? What does the gauge do if you ground the wire on the gauge sending unit?

thermostat i changed as well. Have not tried grounding the wire. i have also heard there are 2 sending units but having trouble locating the other. i took the easiest route and changed the one right in front of me. Any ideas on location of the other unit and the cost?
thanks

After looking at autozones website there are in fact 2 sensors. One is the Coolant Temperature Sensor which sends data to the ecm, the other is the Coolant Temperature Switch which sends data to the gauges. Now where the switch is I have no idea and can't find anything about it on the internet.
