'93-'97 headlight versus '98-00

Guys I ordered a set of projector headlamps off e-bay for my '98 and they came in today but are the wrong ones. The box says FR-5021A 93-97 Ranger Chrome. The receipt says '98-00. I've called the comapny and they apologized and are sending me via email a RMA shipping label, but I took one out of the box and held it in front of my truck and it looks at a glance that it would fit.

What are the differences between the '93-97 and the '98-00?

I was really set on working on my truck this weekend

Ok, I am scratching my head more. I've just been on e-Bay and did a search on projector headlamps for a '98 and the following aucton clearly states '98-01 which is odd because of the '01 change but you can clearly see it has the same part # of FR-5021A is what I got. I've also looked at the back pictures for these and the 93-97 and the ones I have look like nothing on the back of the 93-97 lights.

Well I did a test install of one of the lights before I was going to send them back and they fit fine with a small modification to the GOR. They follow the contour of the grill and the side marker lights perfectly. My wife says they look great. :) I also sprung for some silverstars for my truck and her mini van.

Now I need to aim these buggers and find a place to mount the switch.

Well we are gonna have to see this! This would be the problem with ebay, you really have to study the auction and do your homework.

I did. I was planning thios for months. The auction said '98-00, the receipt in the box said '98-00. Only the box said 93-97. I researched a bunch on Thursday and saw the '93-97 even have a different mounting shceme that the '98's. I honestly think the box was mislabed. I can post some pictures later today when I get done.

ya it would have to be mislabeled because you wouldnt have been able to get the 93-97 to even mount up. sounds good thought brian btw did you get corners too or no?

Ok here is the link to my installation pictures with all the problems and concerns I came across.

The biggest problem was the projector light assembly hard interference to the GOR. The wiring harness extension was a nuisance.

As for the corner/turn signal assembly I didn't switch them to the clears because I really like the big orange turn signal lens underneath the headlamps. I wish I could change just the corner lamps. I am running silverstars in the main lamp.
