"Back in the day," I have replaced a couple of these boogers. So, when my son told me the problems he was having with his '97 over heating, I narrowed it down to a bad heater core. Remembering how replacement was a fairly simple job in my '93, I thought, "Shoot, all I have to do is remove the glove box and open up the heater plenum. Should be a fairly quick repair."
Someone should've shot me then.

I pulled out my trusty Hayne's manual and saw it would be a little more complicated than replacing the one in the '93 I used to own. It said to remove the entire dash. Quite a daunting task for a novice like me, but I said, "I think I can still do it."

Somebody else should've shot me then.

So, long story short, aches in parts of my body I didn't even know existed, and THREE days later, I got the truck put back together...or so I thought.

I discovered that there were four disconnected pieces from the wiring harness underneath the steering column. I quickly discovered one was for the brake switch. However, there are three which elude me still.

The first is a three-wire pigtail (Green, Black, and Yellow-Gray). It has a black flat connector and is about 4-6 inches long. (1st thumbnail below)

The second is a black receiver with a single purple/white stripe wire. it is held in place by a Christmas tree on the center dash support. You can see it in the second thumbnail (below the yellow-jacketed wire on the steering column).

The third connector is a black square receiver with two rounded corners, barely outside the wrapping on the wiring harness just about the blue flasher relay. You can see it in thumbnail 3.

Can anyone help me determine where the pigtail connects and does anything connect to the other two connectors?
