Where the heck does this plug in??

Does anyone know where this dang thing plugs into? you can see it goes into my axle in the first picture

Looks like a breather, should be clipped up by the gas tank filler neck.

Yeah, looks like the breather vent for the diff. Clip it up by the gas tank neck to keep water and road debris out of your nice clean gears.

Clips to the frame. You should be able to see a "wear" spot from where it slide off.
