White "Crap" Under Oil Fill Cap

Today I noticed just the slightest bit of white gel/goop inside my oil-fill cap. It was a very small amount, almost as if someone had taken a white pen and drawn a 1/2" line on the inside edge. I know that this is an indication of moisture in the crankcase, but am wondering if it is ever considered "normal". Last night was very cold (below freezing), and it was in the mid-forties today when I drove the truck. I was on the expressway for part of the drive, so the truck was up to operating temp. My coolant looks fine (no sign of oil) and I replaced the PCV valve last spring. Any thoughts?

Edit: about 6 weeks ago, I noticed that I was between 1 and 1/2 pint low on coolant. The coolant was replaced in the spring when the thermostat housing was replaced. I know that coolant evaporates, but I want to provide as much information as possible. Thanks again for any help!

It will happen this time of year with cold , damp weather if you have been making very many short trips. The coolant may just come up to temperature but the oil may not.
Also if the truck is not driven every day (maybe 2-3 days per week) it could just be condensation.

take it for a good long drive. my golf had it and i searched on the vortex and found out that's what it was. i haven't looked at mine recently, but if my oil is like that i won't be worried.

I took it for a "spirited" drive today, and all seems fine.
