Ok guys, got a 1994 3.slow liter 4x4 supercab ranger and have a fuel line leak coming from one of the lines up near the front drivers side....it runs inside above the frame. i cant tell if it is a feed or return line.

is there any easy way to tell and are these lines steel or plastic.

any help is appreciated...

 

after letting truck sit and fuel dry, it looks like it is leaking from where the hose meets the fuel filter, bad coupling or oring.

 

just look at the line to tell if its plastic or not. put a magnet on it

 

I had that problem after a fuel filter change, I just chopped off the plastic coupling and replaced with a small hose and clamped them together real tight. No problem since. Every fuel filter change I replace the small hose, just in case.
