2010 recall on rangers

2010 recall on rangers

was not sure where to post this. when i got home had a letter from ford saying my ranger (2010) was being recalled for parking brake cable may be come disconnected from right rear actuator. the recall number is 10S12. just wanted to share with you all. i do not know if it affects other years.

Yeah I heard about it the other day, only affects like 9000 or so 2010 Rangers. Had to do with the parking break getting stuck in freezing temperatures.

Interesting, I work at a Ford Dealership, I looked it up. Its for the reasons stated above, the right rear parking brake cable could come loose from the actuator if the parking brake shoes freeze in position in cold temps. Ford updated the actuator design to prevent the parking brake cable from coming loose if the shoes were to stick in the on positon when you release the parking brake. Just thought I would share.

There is a delivery hold on the 10S12 as there was on the 10B15...recalls suck

im living in 10B15 happiness everyday with fusions and escapes

Don't worry about the Ranger recalls, only a year or so left before they let them go anyway. A very tired engine and overall platform design. It's time to scrap it and move on.

Ive done a couple of those, gotta love recalls!! and warrenty work!!

When I worked at the Chrysler Dealer we had one recall that all you did was put a ziptie on a wire under the driver seat... Another fun one on the avengers and sebrings was clipping the wires and putting heat shrink on the wires left, on the vehicles that had the base model Tire pressure monitors...

That and every part that broke frequently was on intergalactic backorder.
