Why do you like your Ranger?

Why do you like your Ranger?
Well I tried to do some searching before I decided to post this and I couldn't find anything related, so I thought it would be a good idea to post up everyone's opinions as to why they like their ranger and why they decided to buy one...
Sometimes there are days when I get sick of my truck, and so I thought it would be a good resource for those of you (like me) who need a reminder as to why we like these little trucks so much...
Oh, and the "I like my truck because there's an official song for it" reason will also be accepted
I'll start:
I like my truck because it is (fairly) good on fuel, is the newest vehicle I have ever owned, and because its unique compared to all the other rangers around my city

I like mine because they have a reputation of being dependable, and so far that's very true with my Ranger. It's not too bad on gas, and it's easy for me to get in and out of, I have a bad back and small cars and large trucks are just too hard for me to get in and out of them without a struggle.
I like having the option to haul stuff around in the back. I also know people personally that have gotten 160,000+ miles on them. I've only got almost 50,000 on mine so it should last quite a while for me. Next April it'll be paid off, and will probably still look and run like new.

I like my Ranger because... wait a minute... what Ranger?
I'd like to get another one. Actually considering a 2011 white extended cab with the 2.3L. Only thing stopping me is the lack of passenger room, which is why I'm looking at F-150's instead. I would actually make money (buying another Ranger) with the plan pricing and year end discounts since my Edge is paid for.
I like my Edge, but miss having a Ranger. Owned a Ranger for over 10 years.

I decided on a Ranger when I was 14 and getting hyped up about being able to drive soon. My Dad has an F150, and I wanted to get a pickup exactly like his only smaller. I've always liked Fords though so the Ranger was the first car I started researching.
I actually put quite a bit of effort into picking my truck as I had intentions of learning on it and keeping it for the rest of my life (hopefully). I took into consideration things like how I can go to the junkyard and get a replacement part from nearly 15 years (at the time) worth of vehicles, and also how pretty much nobody else has a modded Ranger in my town, so my truck would stand out much more.
I of course love the Stepside, and at least in my mind it makes it look that much closer to the fat fender vehicles that I'm really passionate about. I also like the fact that in four more months she'll be paid in full, haha.

Well, to start, the two vehicles I have owned are both Fords. I bought my truck last year, it is my second vehicle and I love it. I have had so many fun memories in this truck and it has earned its place well. It has been nothing but reliable and good to me. I've taken my truck through blizzards, 8" of snow, driving along the river banks, mudding with buddies even though I'm only 2wd. This truck has even made me money. I work a seasonal job in the summer while in college and I save most of my money to get me through winter. I didn't budget right last winter (New GF lol) and ran out of money quick. I used the Ranger to haul scrap metal, powerwashing equipment, snow shovels you name it, I made money with my truck. I can tow quads, uhaul trailers and utility trailers, all while being able to fit into tight spaces, and turn around where only cars can. These little trucks are built well, and really are an awesome multi purpose vehicle. You can play and work out of a Ranger. Thats what I love about my truck.

Haha... you must love it enough to keep fixing it and keep it.
I love mine because it's quick enough for me... gets decent gas mileage for what it is... first truck I've owned and first 4x4... first vehicle I've ever modded beyond having a stereo. I've put a lot of work into making it unique to how I want it to look/perform so I've grown quite attached to it. I actually feel guilty when I drive my accord, I feel like I'm neglecting it. Also love it's size so I can park anywhere, and go down tight trails.
I looked at 3 other rangers over the years and never cracked down and bought one, but I have no regrets about buying this one.

I uh. sure. we'll call it "like" mine.
Its old, thats for damn sure and i like old cars. so thats a plus.
Its got big tires. I can run over stuff, thats kinda cool. I guess.
It has a rollbar and 4 lights! thats gotta be worth something.
Oh, and my Fiance hates driving it. Thats why i keep it.

I have gotten accustomed to having a truck around, with the Ranger I can deal with 20 mpg very well, with my F250's 8mpg......not so much.
We live out in a very rural area where the snow drifts get very deep. Most of the 35 years I've lived here I have had a 4x4 (77 bobtail Bronco, 79 F 150 4x4, 95 Explorer, 89 F 250 4x4), tried getting by without......to heck with that. I put 200,000 miles on the Explorer with basically the same drivetrain and all is good, all these rigs ask of you is decent maintenance and they just keep on going.

everyone keeps saying they get decent gas mileage.. i dont see it in mine.. i get terrible mileage, it rides like a covered wagon, its underpowered, it can sit one other person really, 2 more uncomfortably, the beds really shallow... oh wait, this is why you love your ranger right?
i like the color, i like that with some agressive tires and leveled it can still look beefy. i can pull the i cant drive card because i cant fit anyone in my truck, and i like how my friends think it sounds soo good because of my exhaust. and i like that i can still park at school even tho its a truck and the spots are really small..

I like mine because mostly it is paid for! It's an'02 XLT 4.0 2wd ext cab 4-door that I bought for $4200 in April of '10. I have had an '03 and '04 Toyota Tacoma extended cab in the past but noone can tell me that it is a better vehicle plus at the time they did not have four doors on the extend cab so when I bought mine, the four door was a selling point since it is alot easier to get tools and such in and out.
